What is SendRight™
SendRight™ is NZ Post’s address accuracy programme designed to encourage bulk mailers to address mail accurately. SendRight™ will help you improve the data quality of your addresses and the delivery performance of your mail. It will also help improve customer communications through more efficient, streamlined and accurate data management.
From 1 July 2008, New Zealand Post requires bulk mail users to comply with new postcode and address standards in order to receive bulk mail discounts. To achieve the maximum discount bulk mail users will be required to attach a Statement of Accuracy (SOA) with each lodgement with an accuracy standard of 85%. While this level has been set initially, it is expected to increase over time.
Any difference between the proportion of bulk mail that doesn’t achieve the 85% level of accuracy will be charged at full mail rate to see what savings are up for grabs, you can check out our return on investment cost calculator here.

Statement of Accuracy
A Statement of Accuracy (SOA) is a snapshot of the percentage
of addresses in a mailing list or database, which are valid
matches against the New Zealand Post Postal Address File (PAF).
An SOA can be run at anytime and is valid for a period of 12 months,
unless there are changes of 10% or more within that database or mailing
list. In many instances a low SOA score is initially achieved due to
postcoding issues or inherent poor address quality.

What happens once you have your SOA?
If you managed to get your data cleaned and matched to a satisfactory SOA level, great! You'll continue to enjoy a
discount on your mail posting costs. But what comes next?
Your Statement of Accuracy (SOA) is valid for 12 months. As long as your data quality doesn't change significantly
during this time, you'll have no problems. Using AddressWorks free SOA software will enable you to continually monitor
the level of your data quality as you move forward.
How do I keep it clean?
There are a number of options here. A simple way could be to track new or changed records from the point
in time that you had your database cleaned and updated. By doing this you will know what level of change is
occurring within your data and if cleaning is required, it will only be on this smaller amount and not the entire database.
A cost-effective approach could be to have these new/changed records cleaned through the AddressWorks Web Portal. Check out our
